President and CEO
Born in Winston-Salem, but spending most of his life in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Matt brings over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry having worked for two different ENR top-300 construction firms. Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Xavier University and an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of Cincinnati. He has worked as a carpenter, foreman, superintendent, engineer, estimator, and senior project manager on major commercial and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.
Matt has taught courses and provided training in both CPM Scheduling and Estimating. With a history of solving complex problems and completing difficult projects under budget and on time, he was motivated to purchase the assets of Beach Painting in 2013.
In 2016, he formed Beach Construction Group, LLC., to allow for an expansion of Beach Painting's construction capabilities. The NC Licensing Board accepted his application for a general contractor's license and he successfully passed the NC Residential Contractor's Exam in June of 2016.
Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Liz, and their four daughters – taking in all that the OBX has to offer. On weekends, he can be found on the beach, the golf course, or perfecting his barbeque skills in the backyard. Matt is a member of the Dare County Board of Education and a past member of the Duck Woods Country Club Board of Directors and Holy Redeemer by the Sea Pastoral Council.
Vice President & Accounts Manager
Liz was born in Northeast Ohio where she enjoyed a few summer vacations with family and friends on the Outer Banks. She is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Liz taught special education in greater Cincinnati for 8 years, where she met and married her husband, Matt. After the birth of their first two girls, she became a stay-at-home mom. Matt’s career took the family to Pittsburgh, where their 3rd daughter was born.
After moving the family to the Outer Banks, Liz joined the team at Beach Painting as the Office Manager. Using her superior organizational skills, she became an integral part of the company’s daily operations. Her duties have grown to include accounting, marketing, and human resources.

Liz enjoys spending time with her family, which has grown to four daughters since moving to the Outer Banks. In spite of a hectic schedule, she still finds time to volunteer in community organizations. Her favorite activities include yoga, walking, sitting at the edge of ocean, reading, piano, listening to music, and traveling.
Office Manager
Tiffany was born in Chesapeake and always enjoyed taking vacations with her dad, mom and brother along the East coast. Each year they’d travel to Kitty Hawk and often brought some of her cousins too. As a teenager, she joined Guiding Light Apostolic Church and assisted in any way possible. She’s an honors graduate of ECPI College of Technology with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduation, Tiffany married and moved to Camden County.
After 13 years of working in childcare and pre-K education at Pledger Palace, she joined Beach Painting and Beach Construction Group in 2019.
Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband Clayton and their two boys. She remains an active member in her church.
Project Manager/Estimator
Originally from Suffolk, but raised in Gates County, North Carolina, Dustin came to the Outer Banks at the age of 18. He worked as a painter and a carpenter on the beach for a few years before joining Beach Painting full-time in 2009.
Dustin’s hard work and attention to detail led to his promotion to foreman later that year. Within a short period of time, he became a top-performing foreman at Beach Painting and also advanced his carpentry skills. From 2010 to 2014, he tackled some of the largest and most difficult projects including work for the Outer Banks Hospital, Dare County Water Department in Frisco, and the OB Brewing Station.
In 2014, he replaced his painter’s whites with khakis and accepted the challenge of becoming an estimator & project manager. His meticulous approach and customer-friendly attitude allowed him to quickly excel in this role, and to expand into the role of managing all painting operations; including estimating, productivity, material procurement, management of manpower needs, scheduling, and quality control.
Quality workmanship has always been one of Dustin’s strengths. “I like changing the look of a home for the better. I especially enjoy the fine detail work that shows quality and skill.”
Dustin enjoys playing softball and spending time at home and at the beach with his fiancé and two children.
Project Manager/Superintendent
Guy grew up in Virginia Beach and used to visit the Outer Banks in the Fall, enjoying the tranquility and smaller crowds. He moved to the OBX in 2000, having spent years managing large scale construction projects throughout the country.
Guy joined the Beach Painting family in 2010 as a carpenter. Within a short time he was running a carpentry crew as the foreman focusing primarily on rot repair. He was promoted to Superintendent in 2013 and is now responsible for the management of all carpentry crews. He also manages procurement of construction materials, coordination of contractors, maintenance of tools and equipment, safety, and all construction quality control. Guy handles the applications for building permits as well as scheduling the inspections. He also assists with estimating as needed.
Guy is a sportsman who enjoys all the OBX has to offer in terms of fishing. He also likes deer hunting when the time can be found.
Project Manager/Estimator
Emil joined the Beach Painting Team in 2018 as a foreman bringing over 15 years of painting experience with him. Within a year he was promoted to project manager/estimator. Originally from the Cleveland area, he moved to the Outer Banks with his family in 1998, where he attended high school and worked for his family's painting business.

Emil enjoys softball, golf, and spending time with his wife and three kids.
Painting Superintendent
Ken joined Beach Painting 2002 as a painter. He was promoted to foreman and gained a reputation for managing large and complex projects. In 2014 he was promoted to Superintendent and tasked with additional field management and project coordination to meet the growing needs of the company. He has managed some of Beach Painting's largest and most impressive projects, including Cape Hatteras Secondary School, Manteo Elementary School, Nags Head Elementary School, the Outer Banks Hospital, the Roanoke Island Aquarium, and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum.

Ken lives on the mainland with his wife Michele and mother-in-law Candy. If there’s anything he likes more than the beach, it’s being in the woods. He likes to spend his free time fishing, hunting, grilling, and cooking on the smoker.
Construction Foreman
Originally from Winchester, VA, Marshall came to the Outer Banks in 1994. He started his own construction business and worked as a subcontractor for some of the better known homebuilders on the beach. He worked on the ships watch at Jeanette's Pier and completed several projects for the USCG at Oregon Inlet. Over the years, he has become skilled in every aspect of carpentry and homebuilding.
Marshall joined Beach Painting in 2009. The favorite part of his job is "working with my hands and seeing the smile on the homeowner's face when the job is complete."
Marshall enjoys spending time at the beach, gardening, music, and woodworking in his spare time.
Construction Foreman
Originally from Texas, Rob has worked in the building trades his entire adult life. He has extensive framing and roofing experience and a background in drywall hanging and finishing. He joined Beach Painting in 2015 as a painter.
After working on one of our painting crews for more than a year, Rob was asked to switch from painting to carpentry to help fill a void in Beach Construction Group’s expanding scope of services.It turned out to be a perfect match.
Rob enjoys spending time with his family and loves life on the Outer Banks. “I can’t think of a more beautiful place to live.”
Construction Foreman
Terry grew up in Western Pennsylvania and spent most of his life in Latrobe. He worked for some of the better-known home builders and residential contractors in the area, becoming highly skilled in roofing as well as remodeling.
Seeking warmer temperatures, he relocated to the Outer Banks and joined Beach Construction Group in 2018. Starting as a carpenter, he quickly rose to the level of foreman.
Terry is an auto enthusiast and enjoys working on cars and trucks, when time permits. He and his family are avid sportsmen who enjoy fishing on the Outer Banks and deer hunting in woods of Western Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
